A young mother must navigate a devastated London and the English countryside in search of safety for her baby amid an ecological disaster.
As a woman (Jodie Comer) gives birth to her first child, a massive flood submerges London. This ecological disaster forces her and her partner to leave their home and seek shelter and food amidst all the chaos. At first the young family is able to stay with relatives, but with the increasingly grim aftermath of the flood, the woman becomes distant from her partner. Then, together with her baby, she must find her own way to safety in a trek across the English countryside, revealing just how vulnerable as well as powerful she really is as a woman, and as a young mother. Jodie Comer ('Killing Eve'), Katherine Waterston ('The World to Come') and Oscar winner Benedict Cumberbatch star in this realistic climate thriller from debut director Mahalia Belo, based on Megan Hunter's book of the same name. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
