A blistering animated adventure set during the war between Iran and Iraq laced with magical realism.
In 1980, Abadan the petroleum capital of Iran is under siege by Iraqi forces but holds out for the time being. Despite the siege, 14-year-old Omid is left in the city with his grandfather. He lives among a mishmash of eccentric characters who all have their own reasons for staying in the city. As the net closes in and the city threatens to fall at any moment, Omid tries to save his loved ones by embarking them on an old ship he has found in Abadan's harbor, from which he plans to make his own ark.
