Framed
May 23, 24, 25 and 26, 2024
A festival bursting with animation films, master classes and talks by local and (inter)national creators. Whether you're a diehard animation fan or just curious, Framed is the place to be!
The legendary animator Bill Plymton is on Framed! Waving his arms and shouting "Hello!", perhaps America's most famous independent animation filmmaker always enters the room for a unique version of his famous master class.
He began his career as a cartoonist for The New York Times, National Lampoon, Playboy and Screw, among others. Two of his animated short films, Your Face (1987) and Guard Dog (2005), earned him an Oscar nomination. At Cannes, he won awards for Push Comes to Shove (1991) and Eat (2001). After 1991, he made 11 feature films, mostly animated films. He made numerous commercials and collaborated with artists such as Madonna, Kanye West and Weird Al Yankovic.
Plympton's latest feature film Slide, which brings together many elements of his earlier work is, of course, also on Framed. In addition, Plympton will give a master class on his career as an animator and how he has managed to survive as an independent filmmaker.
This party is not to be missed!
