Director Mascha Halberstad and producer Janneke van de Kerk hof come to talk about the making of the film Vos en Haas Redden het Bos.
Janneke van de Kerkhof is a producer at Amsterdam animation studio Submarine and Mascha Halberstad previously directed the stop-motion film Knor (2022), which was awarded three Golden Calf prizes.
This French animation studio, best known for the television series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, is currently one of the biggest players in CGI animation. Co-founder Jeremy Zag produces television series and films that can be seen in more than 130 countries, on Netflix and Disney+, among others. ZAG Studios embraces the latest techniques and opportunities to further push the boundaries of the animation medium. This is happening, for example, with their latest project Melody, a musical CGI production, working closely with singer Katy Perry. ZAG Animation Studios articulates their mission as follows: 'ZAG breaks the boundaries of the screen to deliver inspiring entertainment across all platforms.'
In his role as character designer, Wouter Tulp imagines what characters in animated films might look like. Guided by character descriptions, he comes up with ideas and proposals that he discusses with directors and producers. Based in the Netherlands, he works for international clients such as Sony Pictures Animation, Paramount Pictures Animation and Skydance. His designs were used, among other things, for the film Leo, which recently appeared on Netflix.
The Imaginary Friend, Steye Hallema's latest VR production, can be seen at all major festivals at home and abroad, and thus also at Framed! Together with producer Corine Meijers (Studio Biarritz), he talks about this project in which he explored the technical limits of VR animation to create a new, personal viewing experience and gives us a look behind the scenes.

Wondering what to expect during a Framed Industry Day? Last year, the second edition of Forum Groningen's own animated film festival Framed took place. The Industry Day was a fantastic day full of curiosity, inspiration and creativity. Guests included Mark Henn, Kasja Næss, Marie-Laure Guisset, Edwin Rhemrev, Maaike Hartjes and Dario van Vree.
