The Kid was Chaplin's first full-length feature film, in which he combined comedy with drama.
In The Kid, considered by many to be the most important film of the silent era, the beloved and iconic character the tramp (Chaplin's alter ego The Little Tramp) gets a new sidekick: The Kid (Jackie Coogan).
The film was a huge box-office success worldwide in 1921 and is still loved by young and old to this day.
Charlie Chaplin has an oeuvre like no other: magical, poetic, hilarious, moving and irresistible. This year marks the 100th anniversary of his groundbreaking film The Kid. Reason enough to bring all his films back to the big screen, in beautifully restored versions.
