The almost thirteen-year-old Vincent grows up in a suburb of Paris, where not only the world economy, but also his family is in crisis.
Father Yves (Louis Garrel) has lost his job but doesn't dare to tell that. Mother Sandrine (Camille Cottin) longs for a job with more challenge after years as a secretary. The tensions often result in fierce arguments.
As Vincent tries to find his place in a family that is growing apart, he experiences his first big love and takes his first steps towards adulthood.
Directors Nakache and Toledano bring a cinematic ode to the music, fashion, and radio games of the 1980s, but above all a personal story that is timeless. A teenager who needs to discover himself, and parents who need to rediscover each other.
