Kneecap follows the funny road to glory of the anarchist Northern Irish hip-hop trio that raps in their own language. Not a documentary - even though the band members play themselves - but a rebellious biopic about heroes from Belfast.
Rapping in their native tongue, rebellious rap trio Kneecap break through in Belfast and quickly become the figureheads of a civil rights movement aimed at saving the Irish language. As public debate erupts, police and politicians do their utmost to silence the anarchist trio. In this wildly original sex, drugs and hip-hop biopic, Kneecap play themselves and issue a global rallying cry in defense of their cultural heritage.
