Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, falls every year on the second new moon after the shortest day of the year.

The celebration in the Forum has become an annual tradition with of course a dragon dance performance, exciting demonstrations and colorful traditions, all performed by wushu / kung fu association Bao Trieu/ Blijd. The coming year will be dedicated to The Snake.

Chinese New Year is celebrated extensively every year in areas with many ethnic Chinese, but also by surrounding cultures in Mongolia, Korea, Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam.

There are no new dates planned (yet) for Chinees Nieuw Jaar.
