For ten years, the film Gabin follows him as he grows up in the rural northern France between the cattle farm of his loving mother and the butcher shop of his stubborn father.
Teenager Gabin does not want to follow in his father's footsteps. He does not dream of becoming a butcher, and instead wants to work with live animals. He wants to talk about feelings, cuddle with his favorite cows, and play video games. Gabin's growing pains are ordinary, but also complicated – and director Maxence Voiseux captures these crucial teenage years in a serene manner.
For ten years, the film Gabin follows him as he grows up in the rural northern France between the cattle farm of his loving mother and the butcher shop of his stubborn father. With a static camera, Voiseux quietly observes how Gabin searches for his own path, while his parents fight for the survival of their business.
Accompanied by dreamy music, the film forms a tender portrait of a teenager on the brink of adulthood.
