Italian costume drama about the encounter between two searching souls: the young and talented violinist Cecilia, an orphan looking for her own identity, and the composer Antonio Vivaldi.
Venice, 18th century. Twenty-year-old Cecilia (Tecla Insolia) is a talented violinist who has lived most of her life in the Ospedale della Pietà orphanage. Art has opened her eyes, but not the doors of the orphanage; it is the only place where she can perform, behind bars for the wealthy patrons.
Only marriage seems to offer a way out. Cecilia’s life changes when a new violin teacher lets her get a taste of a different existence. His name is Antonio Vivaldi (Michele Riondino). Under his guidance, she finds the courage to break free and pursue her own musical passion.
