Little Trouble Girls is a sensual and intimate coming-of-age drama about sexual emergence and Catholic shame.

The film is the impressive directorial debut of Urška Djukić. The introverted 16-year-old Lucia (Jara Sofija Ostan) joins the girls' choir of her Catholic school, where she befriends Ana-Maria (Mina Švajger). The choir travels to a monastery in the countryside to rehearse. Soon, one of the construction workers restoring the monastery sparks Lucia's interest. This tests her friendship with Ana-Maria and the other girls.

The unfamiliar environment and her emerging sexuality throw Lucia off balance and put pressure on the choir. Little Trouble Girls won the FIPRESCI Award at the Berlin Film Festival. The Guardian gave the film 5 stars and Variety wrote: ‘A quiet hothouse of youthful desires, mean-girl tensions and hovering Catholic guilt’.
