Kontinental ‘25

Once again, an ironically charged narrative by Radu Jude about Romanian society and the place of humans within it. Bailiff Orsolya must, in accordance with her profession, execute the court's orders and evict a gambling-addicted alcoholic from a squatted property. This has far-reaching consequences for the addict and her own conscience.

Kontinental ’25 was almost entirely filmed with the iPhone to give the film an unvarnished contemporary character; the aesthetic of beautiful images would camouflage the brutal reality too much.
