Hen

Director György Pálfi expands your view of the world by presenting it through the eyes of a chicken.

After escaping from a chicken farm, a chicken finds shelter in the courtyard of a restaurant. There she discovers love, defies the pecking order, and fights to protect her eggs from a greedy owner. Her funny yet touching quest for motherhood reflects the challenging compromises and silent struggles of human existence.

Hen was selected for the Toronto Film Festival where the film received an honorable mention. Pálfi drew inspiration from the classic Greek tragedies, where the fate of the individual reveals universal questions. The film is both an absurd and poignant fairy tale in which you must empathize with the clucking protagonist.
