With Godzilla Minus Zero, Takashi Yamazaki returns to Japan of the 1940s and 1950s. Yamazaki combines classic kaiju spectacle with human drama, thereby aligning Godzilla Minus Zero with the tradition of the original Godzilla from 1954.
The war reduced Japan to zero. Godzilla then plunged the country into the negative. Two years have passed since then, during which the country has fought a painful battle to recover and ultimately resume daily life.
Just when humanity has managed to cling to a hard-won peace, a new threat strikes and crushes all hope in an instant. Godzilla Minus Zero is a true cinematic event that you cannot miss.
