Director Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman, The Revenant) signed Tom Cruise for a comedy of catastrophic proportions. The story: the filthy rich oil baron Digger Rockwell (Cruise) gives the climate crisis the final push by drilling through the ice in Alaska.

Cruise plays Digger Rockwell, a billionaire who made his fortune in oil extraction and is considered one of the most powerful men in the world. When his company causes an ecological disaster that could even trigger a nuclear war, Rockwell believes he is the man who can save the world from destruction.

What follows is an absurdist, dark tale about power, ego, and the thin line between heroism and self-aggrandizement. Cruise is surrounded by a cast of top actors, including Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, and Riz Ahmed.
