Raak mij aan! Touch me!

Overwhelmingly colorful, psychedelic animated film and director's debut from the extraordinary and beloved animator Masaaki Yuasa, beginning his experimental anime oeuvre.

Nishi has always loved Myon since they were little. And now that he is an adult, he wants to pursue his dream of becoming a manga artist and marrying his childhood sweetheart. However, there is one problem. She has already been proposed to and thinks Nishi is a wimp. But when they meet the fiancé at her family's restaurant and accept him as a good guy, they run into some yakuza, after which Nishi has a certain epiphany.

With his newfound outlook on life, he, Myon, and her sister, Yan, have adventures galore as they escape the yakuza in a most unlikely location.... Mind Game is the directorial debut of Masaaki Yuasa, which began his experimental anime oeuvre. The film is known as most typical of his style: by subjecting the physical world to characters' perceptions, emotion guides their appearance, colors, and backgrounds. This makes for an overwhelmingly colorful, psychedelic animated film in which Yuasa disregards natural laws.
