1899, French Alps. Aimée arrives in a remote mountain village to become a teacher. A poetic, unsettling winter folk drama in which desire, fear, and superstition merge with the overwhelming power of nature.
On a bleak winter night, Aimée arrives in a remote mountain village in the snowy French Alps. She is a young, progressive teacher, but in this community isolated by snow and tradition, faith and legends prove at least as powerful as letters and numbers. Undeterred by this welcome, she sets out, armed with her knowledge, to break through the village's illiteracy and persistent superstitions.
With each snowfall, Aimée's commitment grows, and simultaneously, an intense, sensual unrest grows within her. When an avalanche sweeps away a young villager, reality shifts, and the fragile equilibrium is shattered.
