AI - More Than Human
The exhibition about humans and artificial intelligence
The exhibition AI: More than Human was on display from 7 December 2019 through 16 August 2020. You read about it almost every day: artificial intelligence (AI). This technological development is transforming every aspect of our lives, yet it seems elusive in itself. What exactly is AI? Will it truly turn our lives upside down? AI helps us better understand ourselves, but it also raises new, complex, and fundamental questions. What is a human being? What is a machine? What is intelligence? What is consciousness?
What was there to see and do?
For AI: More than Human, the first exhibition at Forum Groningen, we traveled around the world to bring together the best answers available today. Through installations, artworks, and objects, visitors were given the opportunity to discover these answers themselves in an interactive and playful way. And although there is not always a ready-made answer, we hope the exhibition inspired discussion, wonder, and reflection.
The exhibition was a co-production with London’s Barbican Centre, the renowned creators of successful exhibitions such as Into the Unknown, Digital Revolution, and Game On.
