The twelfth edition of the Best Groningen Film competition has started!
This annual competition highlights the high productivity of the film industry in the province of Groningen. The competition is organized in collaboration with the Groningen Archives and OOG TV. Filmmakers can submit a maximum of two films to compete for the Best Film award in three categories:
Five films will be nominated from all entries in the Fiction and Non-Fiction categories and three films in the Talent Award category.
The 2024 edition of the Best Groningen Film competition has started. In this competition, we highlight the high productivity of the film sector in the province of Groningen. The festive awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Forum Groningen and has since become a festive gathering place for filmmakers and film enthusiasts.
For this edition of Best Groninger Film, Forum Groningen will also present an audience choise award, where everyone can vote for. The winner of the audience award will win the Forum's Deluxe Cinema for an evening with friends and family.
Every year, a professional jury selects winners in four categories. In this twefth edition of Best Groningen Film, Forum Groningen also presents another audience award, where the public can vote for their favourite Groningen film.
