Oscar-nominated director Laura Nix turns her insightful lens on one of the most consequential and turbulent moments in the nearly 250-year history of American democracy. The film connects today’s crises to their historical roots, drawing on commentary from prominent political observers who examine executive overreach, a crisis of judicial ethics, and a media landscape saturated with disinformation. 

With inventive dark humor, the documentary explores how the promise of a multiracial American democracy is once again under threat. As the country confronts challenges that extend far beyond any single presidency, fears of an authoritarian takeover are growing.
