In memory of Diane Keaton, we are screening Reds, the historical romance in which she delivers one of her most layered and powerful roles.
In this ambitious film by Warren Beatty, Keaton shines as Louise Bryant, a writer and activist struggling to find her voice amid political unrest, passion, and revolution. Her performance is intense, astute, and deeply human.
American journalist John Reed (Beatty) travels to Russia to document the Bolshevik Revolution and returns a revolutionary. His fervor for left-wing politics leads him to Louise Bryant (Keaton), who is married at the time and will later become a feminist icon and activist. Back home, politics and personal situations become more complicated as the gap between reality and Reed's ideals grows.
This film has a 15-minute intermission.
There are no new dates planned (yet) for RIP Diane Keaton: Reds.
