Joachim Trier's long-awaited new film after The Worst Person in the World. For this poignant family portrait, Trier brings together an impressive cast, including Stellan Skarsgård, Elle Fanning and, once again, Renate Reinsve.
Sisters Nora (Renate Reinsve) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas) are reunited with their absent father Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård), once a renowned film director. He offers Nora, a theatre actress, a role in the film that is to be his big comeback. When Nora turns down the role, she discovers that he has given it to young Hollywood star Rachel Kemp (Elle Fanning). The two sisters must face their difficult relationship with their father and deal with an American star who has landed in the middle of their complex family dynamics.
