A brand new version of Oscar Wilde's famous play. Max Webster (Life of Pi) directs this hilarious tale of identity, impersonation and romance, filmed live from the National Theatre in London.

Three-time Olivier Award-winner Sharon D Clarke and Ncuti Gatwa (Doctor Who, Sex Education) play the lead roles in this upbeat reworking of Oscar Wilde's comedy The Importance of Being Earnest . While assuming the role of a dutiful guardian in the countryside, Jack goes wild in the city under a false identity. Meanwhile, his friend Algy adopts a similar facade. Hoping to impress two desirable ladies, the gentlemen become entangled in a web of lies through which they must carefully navigate.
