National Theatre Live: The Audience

For sixty years, Queen Elizabeth II held a weekly private meeting with each of her twelve prime ministers. The name of these conversations: The Audience. From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron, the Queen offered her prime ministers advice on both public and personal issues. 

Through these private conversations, we catch glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that made a person into a monarch. Peter Morgan's Netflix sensation The Crown was based on this stage hit, filmed live in London’s West End in 2013, which became one of the most viewed NT Live productions ever.
