Blazing action film from the director of Le grand bain, who assembles a star cast for a raw, romantic fairy tale full of wonderful music (including The Cure). Quentin Tarantino meets West Side Story in French.

Acinematically expansive tale of a youthful and desperate love. Violent in its depiction of the characters' situational circumstance and passionate in its translation of a love that is an addiction, L’amour ouf is a story that spans childhood, adolescence and adulthood.

Cassette tapes. Coin operated public phones. Solar eclipses. It’s the 1980s and 90s and two French teenagers fall in desperate love with each other. 17-year-old bad-boy Clotaire comes from a lower income chaotic home and 15-year-old Jackie, raised by a single father, is expelled from her private school. When the two teens meet the attraction is palpable, what unfolds is a Shakespearean tragedy with Romeo and Juliet leanings.

Based on the 1997 novel Jackie Loves Johnser OK? by Irish author Neville Thompson, filmmaker Gilles Lellouche builds an epic and cinematically expansive tale that spans two decades. Gritty, high energy, the love shared between Clotaire and Jackie is captured through brilliant acting, a captivating score, and an abundance of drama to keep audiences engaged from the opening scene to the last frame.

There are no new dates planned (yet) for L'amour ouf.
