The new film by director Danny Boyle immersively charts the lightning-fast rise of Rupert Murdoch's notorious newspaper The Sun, as he and editor-in-chief Larry Lamb lay the blueprint for British tabloid culture. Starring Guy Pearce and Jack O’Connell.

Rupert Murdoch (Guy Pearce, The Brutalist) convinces newspaper editor Larry Lamb (Jack O’Connell) to take charge of his newly acquired but struggling daily The Sun. But how do you attract readers in the cutthroat British media market? By seeking extremes and throwing everything on the page that causes a stir; the more provocative, the better. The tactic works, and soon The Sun sees its circulation skyrocket.

O’Connell is compelling as the ambitious and morally questionable Lamb, who drives the team to its limits, while Pearce delivers a carefully measured portrayal of Murdoch: both restrained and ruthless, driven by the resentment of an outsider.

The fast-paced and immersive Ink by Boyle charts this dark journalistic legacy that continues to resonate to this day.
