Frankenstein

The star-studded Frankenstein by the widely acclaimed Mexican director Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water) can safely be called the ultimate version of Mary Shelley's classic story about Victor Frankenstein. Del Toro's brilliant version about the genius but egocentric scientist who brings a flawed creature to life in a monstrous experiment, ultimately leading to the downfall of both the creator and his tragic creation, towers far above previous film versions in terms of both content and form.

The cinematography is nothing short of magnificent, and the beautiful script features remarkable character development full of psychological depth. And that's not even mentioning the masterful cast, with leading roles for Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi.
