Playful, atmospheric character study of a restless young adult, co-produced by Luca Guadagnino. The 19-year-old Leonardo (Manfredi Marini) longs to leave Palermo and his dominant mother behind. Lacking better options, he follows his older, party-loving sister to London to study business but turns back to Italy, becoming increasingly entangled with himself. Writer/director Giovanni Tortorici (Palermo, 1996) worked as a trainee assistant director on the set of Luca Guadagnino's series We Are Who We Are. He continued his collaboration with Guadagnino as a cameraman and assistant director on short films and music videos. Diciannove is his first feature film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
