Decorado by Alberto Vázquez is a darkly comic, existential fable about a mouse who begins to question whether his world—and the life he knows—is real or just a staged set.
The story follows Arnold, a mouse in the city of Anywhere, who finds himself in a midlife crisis. As his personal troubles grow, he begins to suspect that everything around him is artificial, like a theatrical set, and embarks on a search for what is real and meaningful.
Inspired by The Truman Show, classic Mickey Mouse cartoons, and Bergman’s Scenes from a Marriage, Decorado reflects on modern life, highlighting superficial relationships, hyperconnectivity, and the alienation brought by social media, AI, and corporate influence. A surreal and thought-provoking fable about authenticity in a world that feels increasingly staged.
During Framed, you will see the short film Cosmic Crash prior to Decorado. When an otherworldly being crashes near a lab, chaos is unleashed.
