The brothers Ivan and Andrei grew up without a father. When he reappears in their lives after 12 years of absence, the brothers cope with the turbulent emotions his return evokes in radically different ways.
In a bold attempt to position himself as a role model, the father takes his sons on vacation to a remote island. Along the way, this attempt to forge new bonds quickly escalates into a difficult confrontation, culminating in a rite of masculinity of almost mythical proportions.
