This classic, which launched actress Elsa Lanchester as a feminist icon despite her minimal screentime, is now screening as a double bill with Maggie Gyllenhaal's new adaptation, The Bride!.

After the original story of Frankenstein's monster, the villagers believe the monster has perished. However, he manages to hide with a blind hermit, Dr. Pretorius, who treats him as a friend. Meanwhile, he learns to speak and other things that make him more human. The only thing missing is a lover. Dr. Pretorius proposes to Dr. Frankenstein to create a wife for the monster. Frankenstein refuses, but Pretorius doesn't give up easily.
