Calle Malaga

After her critically acclaimed films Adam and The Blue Caftan, Moroccan filmmaker Maryam Touzani returns with Calle Málaga. Touzani's grandmother serves as the inspiration for this Spanish-language drama, set in Tangier and dedicated to her. The film tells the story of Maria Angeles, a 79-year-old woman who receives a visit from her daughter Clara, a nurse living in Madrid. Clara, who is emotionally troubled and facing financial difficulties, has decided to sell the parental home where Maria has lived her entire life. In her attempts to resist her daughter's decision, Maria rediscover her city and finds a romantic spark that will change her life.
