Step into an interactive VR experience that is simultaneously disarming, humorous and confronting. Oto's Planet takes you to a tiny planet where the quiet existence of resident Oto is turned upside down by the arrival of an unexpected guest: Exo, an astronaut with big plans.
Oto lives a simple life. He swings in his hammock and eats pink fruits from his special tree – he doesn’t need anything more. Until, helped by you as a user, he tries to pick a fruit and accidentally causes a shock wave. This attracts the attention of a spaceship, which promptly crashes on his planet. From the wreckage steps Exo, a self-assured cosmonaut who plants a flag without hesitation and starts building.
What follows is a funny but poignant clash between two worlds and the tensions between Oto and Exo build up. How do you deal with someone who enters your world, takes over everything and doesn’t listen? How can you help?
Selected at all major festivals and winner of the Special Jury Prize, Venice 2024 and Reflet d’Or, Geneva International Film Festival 2024. All the more reason to include this special VR experience in the Framed programme.
