Raak mij aan! Touch me!

Anyone who thought the Overlook Hotel from Stanley Kubrick's Stephen King adaptation The Shining represented the pinnacle of evil hasn't yet checked into the Portuguese hotel from Mal Viver.

Three generations of mothers and daughters get on each other's nerves.

As a child he went there with his parents; as an adult director João Canijo returned. A hotel near the Portuguese Oporto where he situated the oppressive story of three generations of mothers and daughters who get on each other's nerves. Incidentally, it is thoroughly human and not supernatural things that make a stay a hell in the first, stand-alone part of a diptych.

Mal Viver was in the competition of Berlin and 'mirror film' Viver Mal at the same festival in Encounters, the second competition.

There are no new dates planned (yet) for Mal Viver.
