The Mastermind is the new film by Kelly Reichardt (Certain Women, First Cow), characterised by her unique visual style.

With a strong performance by Josh O'Connor (Challengers, La Chimera), who is perfect as the world's worst art thief. In a remote corner of Massachusetts around 1970, boring JB Mooney (Josh O'Connor) fills his days as a carpenter. While he tells his wife (Alana Haim, Licorice Pizza) and mother (Hope Davis) that he has landed a big job, he is secretly preparing for an art heist.

How hard could it be to steal a few paintings from the local museum? Until things don't go according to plan... The Mastermind was selected for the Palme d'Or competition at the Cannes Film Festival. “Quietly fantastic...
