An older woman finds new meaning in caring for a stork, while her daughter dreams of leaving. A story about freedom and connection.
In Singing Wings, director Hemen Khaledi follows the life of an older Kurdish woman in a remote mountain village. While caring for her sick husband, she unexpectedly finds new purpose when she takes in an injured stork. What begins as a small act of care grows into an emotional bond that gives color and meaning to her daily life.
At the same time, her daughter dreams of a future outside the village, far away from the mountains and traditional life. Against a calm, observational style, Singing Wings paints an intimate portrait of love, devotion, and the relationship between humans and nature.
