L'Attachement

Sandra, an independent fifty-year-old, suddenly has to share her privacy with her neighbor and her two children. Alex (Pio Marmaï) is a young, single father who is deeply saddened by the death of his wife. His son Elliot is six years old and has to learn to cope with the new home situation. The older neighbor Sandra (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) runs a feminist bookstore and is very much on her own. Against all expectations, they become attached to each other. But who is she to them? And who are they to her?

Director Carine Tardieu Ôtez-moi d'un doute shows once again how we can shape relationships and family ourselves. L'Attachement had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival (Orizzonti).
