With It’s Such a Beautiful Day, Don Hertzfeldt creates a uniquely animated film where humor, surreal imagery, and profound questions about existence come together.
The film follows Bill, an apparently ordinary man who faces a mysterious neurological condition. As his memories fade and hallucinations intrude on his daily life, he gradually loses touch with the world around him. What begins as a story about everyday life unfolds into an intimate journey through memories, thoughts, and the fragility of human existence.
The simple stick-figure animation contrasts strikingly with the weighty themes of the film, resulting in a widely acclaimed work that is simultaneously funny, moving, and distinctly original.
