Somewhere Out There is a documentary about the life and career of the legendary animator and director Don Bluth.
This unique portrait of animation director Don Bluth will not be released until later this year, but Framed offers you an exclusive opportunity to watch the film in advance. Bluth is the visionary behind films such as An American Tail, The Land Before Time, The Secret of NIMH, Anastasia, and the popular video game Dragon’s Lair. Documentary filmmakers Dave LaMattina and Chad Walker conducted intimate interviews and gained access to hundreds of hours of never-before-seen archival and home video footage. With this, they created Somewhere Out There, a fascinating portrait of an artist who struggled his entire life with his own ego and a career torn between art and commerce.
During Framed, you can also admire Don Bluth’s most acclaimed film, The Secret of NIMH, on the big screen once again.
With an introduction by Storyworld programmer Jan-Willem de Vries.
