The first film of The Before Trilogy is a sophisticated and subtle tribute to the excitement of romantic possibility, tenderly and observantly captured by Richard Linklater (Boyhood).

In Before Sunrise, we follow Jesse, a young American traveller, and Céline, a French student, who meet by chance on the train to Vienna. What begins as a spontaneous invitation to spend the evening together grows into a deep conversation about love, time, dreams and the meaning of life. As they wander the streets of Vienna, a unique connection develops between two strangers - vulnerable, intimate and temporary.

Director Richard Linklater captures an extraordinary encounter with minimal means and maximum emotion. With impressive dialogue, natural chemistry between the protagonists and the atmosphere of a sleeping city, Before Sunrise has become a modern classic.
