A delightful, heart-warming film set in a tiny village in the middle of the Scottish Highlands during the most important moment of the year: the World Porridge Making Championship.

A heartwarming and hilarious documentary that is really about the wonderfully warm and kind residents and participants; each of them a little eccentric, imperturbable and blessed with delightful dry humour.

Since the Stone Age, few culinary traditions have endured as well as the nutritious bowl of porridge in the morning. No wonder that despite the simple ingredients of oats, water and salt, the competition attracts participants from all over the world. For the older, particularly charismatic, but health-challenged protagonist Charlie Miller, this competition means so much more than just a bowl of steaming porridge. He will lead the festivities for the last time and, with his unflappable, dry humour, is fully committed to making this championship a success and securing his legacy.
