Mur Murs is Agnès Varda through and through: affectionate encounters with fascinating and idiosyncratic people.
In her documentaries, Agnès Varda likes to explore the intersection of art, history and the people who are part of it. Mur Murs is a portrait of Los Angeles in the early 1980s, in which the city's murals tell the stories. Different population groups use street art to bring their lives into the public space. The title of the film plays with the idea that the walls are whispering to each other.
Mur Murs was selected for Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival in 1981.
There are no new dates planned (yet) for Docs: Mur Murs (re-release).
