One of Agnès Varda's most famous documentaries. The film caused quite a stir at the time and became her calling card.
In Les glaneurs et la glaneuse, Agnès Varda encounters “glaneurs” all over France, people who find, collect and reuse things – also known as gleaners. They do this out of necessity, by chance, or by conscious choice: living off the leftovers of others to prevent waste. In the documentary, Varda brings different worlds together. That of the original gleaners from earlier times, and that of Varda herself, who also finds, collects and reuses her images and stories.
There are no new dates planned (yet) for Docs: Les glaneurs et la glaneuse (re-release).
