Because of the one-year death of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama on 1 March, Battle of Gods returns to the big screen with an Extended Cut, featuring 20 extra minutes never before seen in cinemas.

Following the events of the Dragon Ball Z television series, after Majin Buu's defeat, a new force awakens that threatens humanity. Beerus, an ancient and powerful God of Destruction, goes in search of Goku after hearing rumours about the Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza. The Z-Fighters realise Beerus is a threat to their home planet and must find a way to stop him before it is too late. Only Goku, humanity's last hope, can rise to the level of a legendary Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus from destroying Earth, and possibly the entire universe!
