Chinese filmmaker Lin Jianjie's debut film explores the tensions, power struggles, dangers, and desires of family life... moving and suspenseful, with excellent performances from an ensemble cast.

An incident at a high school brings Wei, the only son of a wealthy Chinese family, and his classmate Shuo closer together. They grow ever closer, and Wei's parents are also happy to welcome their son's new friend into their home. As Shuo becomes more and more integrated into the family, he discovers that their comfortable life conceals a wealth of secrets and repressed emotions. A tragic event finally brings old wounds and fears to the surface.
