Vermeer – The Greatest Exhibition

In the spring of 2023, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam will open its doors for the largest Vermeer exhibition ever. Borrowed masterpieces from all corners of the world come together, such as Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Geographer, The Milkmaid, The Street, Writing Woman with Maid and Woman with Scales.

In addition to the collaboration on the retrospective exhibition, The Rijksmuseum and Het Mauritshuis in The Hague have conducted in-depth research into Vermeer's artistry; the creative process behind his paintings, his artistic choices and the motives behind his compositions. “We never thought that so many museums would be willing to lend their masterpieces.
