Influential adventure classic considered one of the founding fathers of the adventure film genre. With live accompaniment by the James Whale Orchestra, who put composer Max Steiner's original score into a surprising new arrangement.
In this adventure classic, an evil count hunts shipwrecked sailors on a remote island. Big game hunter Bob Rainsford is the sole survivor of a shipwreck. On the island he manages to reach swimmingly, an even more severe ordeal awaits him. There, a Count Zaroff entertains himself by hunting down ... castaways. Together with Eve, another of the Count's victims, Bob flees into the jungle. With the only weapon: his own ingenuity.
The film's spectacular sets would later be reused for King Kong, while a significant portion of cast and crew also collaborated on both adventure classics.
