In a future where people have given up their ability to dream for immortality, a mysterious woman hunts for a being that refuses to leave the dream world.
In an indeterminate future where people have given up their ability to dream for immortality, Deliriants still exist: beings that refuse to leave the dream world. In search of such a Deliriant, a mysterious woman travels through his dreams, following him through illusion, beauty, and oppressive visions that span a century of Chinese and cinematic history.
Resurrection is the latest cinematic journey from Bi Gan, the leading author of his generation. Like a hypnotic fever dream, it transports the viewer to a world of visual enchantment. Told in six chapters, ranging from the silent era of German expressionism to a color-saturated, rain-soaked vampire romance, the film serves as both a love letter to cinema and a contemplation of the eternal questions surrounding existence, reality, and identity.
Winner of the Prix Spécial at Cannes, Resurrection promises nothing less than a sensorially overwhelming journey, where a visionary director once again pushes the boundaries of his art.
