Five eccentric brothers, one remote island, and a family secret that defies all bounds of humanity: Men & Chicken is a delirious, movingly absurd comedy about identity and evolution.
After their father's death, half-brothers Gabriel and Elias discover they are not who they thought they were. Their search leads to a dilapidated mansion on a remote island, inhabited by three equally peculiar brothers—and a series of genetic mysteries that would have been better left unsolved. In Men & Chicken, grotesque slapstick collides with philosophical undertones: a bizarre, pitch-black comedy about family, science, and the need for belonging.
Mads Mikkelsen shines in a completely unrecognizable role, surrounded by a cast of eccentric outsiders who are both repulsive and moving. With his unique blend of absurdity, empathy, and moral discomfort, Jensen proves once again that his films demand not only laughter—but also reflection.
The Complete Anders Thomas Jensen
In honor of the release of The Last Viking, Anders Thomas Jensen’s sixth feature film as a director, we’ll be screening in December the five films he directed prior to it. Each one is an absurdist gem full of pitch-black humor and grotesque situations, yet always marked by a keen eye for human behavior and unexpected tenderness.
Agenda
There are no new dates planned (yet) for Men & Chicken - 10th Anniversary.
