A man with coke is stuck in a filthy toilet on a rollercoaster ride that goes wonderfully over the top.
Luc, in his forties, loves a good time and is at a club trying to make amends with his ex. But before he knows it, he's stuck in the men's restroom. He's not alone there—his dealer's cocaine stash is stashed away. This is going to be a long night.
One location and a handful of actors—it takes courage. In his debut film, Grégory Morin truly draws the most out of the characters and their intensely grimy surroundings. The story is told in real time, and the seventy minutes are a rollercoaster ride of suspense, humor, and gore. In terms of design and tone, Flush is occasionally reminiscent of the work of Gaspar Noé and Álex de la Iglesia. But Morin has his own style, ratcheting up the absurdity with every plot twist, before finally unleashing its full potential in the spectacular finale.
PIMPLE (4 min) | Short film
Prior to the movie, we're showing the short film Pimple. A young boy’s pimple bursts, leading to a bloody mess his bullies weren’t counting on! One of our favourite unhinged absurdist comedy shorts of the year.
